Welcome to Pawsitive!
Pawsitive is a dog training club based in Bournemouth, Dorset (UK). It's
run by father and daughter team, Malcolm Hewitt and Katie Spicer. You
can find out more about Pawsitive and both Malcolm and Katie on the About
Us page.
This site covers many aspects of the services we offer, and dog training
in general. More information can be found about our courses (which includes
puppy training, right through to show standard obedience, and the opportunity
to take part in our demo team) and the kind of training we do on the Courses
page. The Venues page shows where we hold our
training classes, as well as listing the dates and times of our training
sessions each week. On the Events page, you can
find out about any upcoming special events we are planning, as well as
details of past events - it currently shows some photos from our recent
Novelty Dog Show and Fun Day.
The training methods we use here at Pawsitive are positive and motivational, reward based. We not only focus on obedience
training, with the objective of achieving a well behaved, obedient dog,
we also put a lot of emphasis on socialisation, and fun! We all need to
have fun, humans and dogs alike, and the methods we use in the training
of dogs are those of fun and reward. As a little bit of fun and reward
for us humans, many dog-related jokes and funny lists, as well as photos,
can be found on our Just For Fun pages.

Katie Spicer
Some of our most advanced dogs, performing an excellent "Sit Stay". Most of these wonderful doggies have passed their KCGCDS at Gold level and continue to attend our advanced class, because they enjoy it so much. A lot of their owners have been coming to our classes for years, and Pawsitive wouldn't be Pawsitive without them!

At Pawsitive, we pride ourselves in being able to help give puppies the best start in life. Our comprehensive Puppy Course is tailored for young pups.
It's a well structured 6 week course
during which all the puppy basics are covered, including basic commands
(sit, down, stand, come, leave, wait, stay, etc), puppy health and well-being,
safe and controlled socialisation with other pups, handling and inspection,
road-walking, puppy retrieve, and plenty of fun games through which you
and your pup will learn even more.
